An Unexpected Chapter: National University of Singapore

Let's be frank here. I have NO IDEA how I got myself into this situation. If you wonder what I mean by 'this situation', yes, I mean NUS, the NUS situation.

So basically, approximately 3 months ago, one sunny morning, my phone decided to send me a GMail notification. Come on la, when important mail gets in, you don't send me notifications. !!WT*!! So, I heard a beep from my phone, checked it, cheh wah, e-mail from NUS weyh... (no, that wasn't my real reaction). It was more of a panicky WHAT-DO-I-DO?!-SITUATION. Opened up the e-mail and my jaw dropped. NAY YAY!! I was offered admission into NUS. Really, I know it is a great opportunity because everyone strives to get into NUS but really, I'm sorry, I was happy the way things were before with my previous plans. Some people are gonna be like, then WHY DID YOU APPLY? TYVM. Obviously, it was against my own will la.. abuden?!

So basically, it was insisted that I go to Singapore. Okay, fine.. But I still had to deal with the whole idea of leaving my Malaysian lifestyle behind as well as family and friends. I'm Malaysian as many of YOU (I don't know who YOU are but...) may know. Singapore's like right down the road as many would say.

Please take note that even as I am writing  typing this blog post, I still am trying to get used to my NEW LIFE.

So, fast forward to NOW, which is a week into classes?? Yea, about that.

Here's some good news and bad news,
GOOD NEWS: I have relatives in Singapore. YAY ME~~ Kind of.
BAD NEWS: Leaving home is bad news.

By the looks of it, it's likely that you guessed right. Yes, this is a post where I rant.
I mean, do you ever have those moments where you have visualized yourself still home for uni life, driving back and forth from school everyday, going to uni with people you already know and one day it's just stuck there simply because things have changed. Not to mention that at this point in your life, you cannot visualize the next part of your life anymore. It's just BLANK.

Coming to think of it, I could be not keen to attend a university overseas simply because of the uncertainty of things. I'm not sure. What I'm a 100% sure about is that I miss my family, friends, pet dogs and basically my lifestyle in KL. :(

Oh well, that's that. Enough ranting and just live with the situation you are in now I guess.
ALL the BEST to myself and whoever else who is in a similar situation to mine.

Feel free to leave a comment in the comment box down below if you'd like to know more about the process application process to NUS and what not. Thank You!

REVIEW: Etude House Dear My Wish Lips Talk

Etude House has their NEW lipstick line, Dear My Wish Lips Talk launched. Based on my research done before purchasing this product, this lipstick is supposed to be an improved version of their Dear My Blooming Lips for the 2014 Winter.

Being a winter released product, this lipstick claims to be rich in color (pigment I suppose), rich in nutrition and rich in moisture as it comes with a new texture that melts smoothly onto lips and delivers vivid color with just one touch.

As for its packaging, yes, it is very similar to the Dear My Blooming Lips line.

It's just that the ribbon is situated at the center of the lipstick this time.

Now, for the price of this product, retailing for RM 65.90 in Malaysia. It is a pretty expensive product costing up to more than RM 60 for one color/ one lipstick/ one bullet. THAT's almost the price of a MAC lipstick. Seriously? But seriously, I just had to try them out... WHY?! Because the colors looked amazing on Krystal Jung. *wink*

Now, here are the colors I purchased, BE102, RD301 and RD302.

I only purchased 3 out of the 10 colors that they've launched.

Back to what it claims,
i. MELTS smoothly onto lips
ii. delivers VIVID color
iii. with just ONE TOUCH.

Well, here are my swatches, with just one touch. Not bad, eyh?
i. MELTS smoothly onto lips (Check)
ii. VIVID color (Check)

However, when using these lipsticks you have to be super careful. These lipsticks are super creamy and therefor smudge easily. Reminder, do not store them in places that are warm. The lipstick WILL MELT (like it claims xD, but not in a nice way this time).

PROS:
i. SUPER Pigmented
ii. Creamy
iii. Moisturizing

CONS:
i. Doesn't last very long w/o lip pencil
ii. Hard to use for precise application (I suggest a lip brush)
iii. Dead skin from lips stick to lips and are visible -if you know what I mean

OVERALL
I personally feel it's not worth RM 65.90 but if you manage to get it for half its price then by all means, give it a try. For something better during the Winter/ something moisturizing, I'd suggest the REVLON Lip Butter (inexpensive and build able- color wise). Would I repurchase it, maybe, maybe not because it's quite high maintenance if you ask me.

Tip: If you do plan on purchasing this product, I'd suggest looking up for more swatches online and not from the swatches from the ad. the colors that appear on the ad. are taken on super fair skinned models and have great lighting.
